After fire destroyed
the auditorium of the recently restored and improved Waterford Old School in January
2007, concerts moved to another early 20th century schoolhouse in nearby Lucketts,
Virginia. Keeping standards high for its 14th season, the 2008 Waterford Concert
Series presents grand opera, a hot saxophone quartet, young music competition
winners, a 21st century chamber chorus, and one of the best string quartets in the
world. Please join us Sunday afternoons at four for good times and great music.
Support of the concert series brings fine classical musicians to western Loudoun
County. Your help hastens the rebuilding of the Waterford Old School auditorium and
benefits the National Historic Landmark.
The Waterford Foundation thanks all who responded with concern and offers of help when
the Old School burned. Special thanks to Hilary Cooley, Manager of the Lucketts Community
Center, her Board of Directors and the Loudoun County Department of Parks and Recreation
for inviting the Waterford Concert Series to hold concerts in Lucketts.
For the 2008 season, concerts are scheduled for the following dates:
Please see the Concert Schedule for more about each
concert and the musicians. Please see Ticket Information for
subscription and individual ticket prices and purchasing options. The Waterford
Concert Series, a program of the Waterford Foundation, aspires to present classical music
of the highest calibre and attract an audience from near and far. Proceeds and
contributions to the Concert Series have been used to improve the Old School and support
the Foundation in its mission to preserve buildings and open spaces within the Waterford
National Historic Landmark District.
